Bread Wheat (Triticum aestivum subsp. aestivum)

The most common wheat type. The ears are often upright and each spikelet has three grains. On good soils this type yields best of all wheat types. Free threshing.
Bread wheat is a hexaploid species, and spelt and club wheat also belong to the same species.
There are many different types. Most do not have awns, but there are also several bread wheat varieties with awns.
