Flint Corn (Zea mays var. indurata)

Canbred 150

A Canadian variety from the 1940's, when there was still breeding of open pollinated flint corn. It comes from a double cross of two inbred flint maize lines and two inbred dent maize lines.
It grows 165-185 cm tall, has 14-16 leaves and matures early. 1 cob per plant with 12-16 rows of yellow to slightly reddish yellow kernels. The cobs are 10-13 cm long and the kernels are a bit smaller than in most flint maize varieties.
