Henrik Norbeck's Plant Culture

Dun Pea (Pisum sativum )

Lollandske rosiner

This Danish dun pea is low (60-70 cm) and leafless and has brown rather large seeds that are a bit angular or dented.
"Leafless" means that the leaves are converted to tendrils and the plants hold on to each other much better and don't need any support. However the stipules are still there and look like "leaves". The stipules sit where the leaf stalk meets the plant stem. The mutation for leaflessness has probably emerged several times during the history of pea cultivation.
I got this variety from Sesam, and it originally comes from the sister organisation Frøsamlerne in Denmark.

The leaves converted to tendrils are already visible in the small plants.
