Bush Snap Beans (Phaseolus vulgaris )

Stringless beans (or French beans or haricots verts or snap beans) have thin pods without membranes and strings. They are harvested when they are still green and tender, before the seeds start to swell too much. The ends are pinched off and then they are boiled 8-10 minutes.

Varieties

If you want to save your own seeds of snap beans, you let some pods sit on the plant until they are completely dry and shrivelled.
