Dent Corn (Zea mays var. indentata)
Red King
An early variety from Slovakia. 15 cm long cobs with 10 rows of very dark red to dark purple kernels. The plants grow 160-200 cm tall and have 15-16 leaves. The kernel shape is a bit different from ordinary dent corn - they are more plump and apart from the dent at the top they are also pointed towards the top of the cob.
I got this variety from the gene bank IPK Gatersleben.
